Welcome to Parent2Parent!
The City of St. Charles School District Safe and Drug Free Schools and Communities Grand Advisory Council is a group of students, parents, community and staff members concerned about the usage and acceptance of drugs, particularly alcohol, tobacco and marijuana among, our teenagers.
We hope to create an awareness of the social pressures that our teenagers face and to prevent potential problems through open communication with and support for our teens and each other.
As a parent, you are your child's first and best protection against alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use.
NOTE: We use the term ATOD (alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs) to emphasize that alcohol is a mind altering drug just like cocaine, marijuana or heroin and that tobacco is highly addictive.
You can provide the positive example, guidance, clear rules and love so necessary to help your children grow up free from the problems of drug use. There are no guarantees that your child will not choose to use drugs, but parents play a key role in influencing that decision.
The first step is to become informed yourself.
We hope this
guide can
be a beginning.
