Many of you are probably familiar with the AlertNow system that delivers recorded school district information to your home telephone. Please note that it is important for parents to include accurate phone numbers and e-mail addresses on their students' registration information, and to notify their school registrar during the year if changes occur.

Checking Messages:

To replay or review previous AlertNow messages from the school district, a parent should go to www.alertnowmessage.com. When prompted, enter the 10-digit phone number or e-mail address to be checked, and click the Search button.

Text Messaging Option:

In addition to the voice service, CSCSD parents now have the option to receive notice of school cancellation due to inclement weather and notice of other emergencies as SMS text messages on their cell phones. To receive text messages, parents must "opt-in" online at https://www.alertnowsms.com. You'll be prompted for a PIN number - the PIN for the City of St. Charles School District is 092090. When you've entered that PIN, you'll be directed to a registration page where you can provide your cell phone number(s) and your cell carrier.

Questions or comments can be e-mailed to parentalerts@mail.stcharles.k12.mo.us. Parents no longer wishing to receive text messages must opt out at the same website.

Important Reminders about Receiving Calls from AlertNow:

• Caller ID will display the school's main telephone number for all school announcements. District-wide announcements will display the district's main telephone number, 636-443-4000. General messages will go to the phone number(s) indicated by parents for AlertNow at the time of registration. You should contact your child(ren)'s school with any changes or updates as they occur throughout the year.

• Emergency calls will be directed to the same number as all other AlertNow calls. Additionally, SMS text messages will also be sent to parents who opt-in for this services. The ID number displayed for a text will be 55629.

• Be sure to say "Hello" when answering calls to hear the AlertNow message.

• Messages in progress may be restarted from the beginning by pressing "1".
