School Closings

In the event of severe weather, the St. Charles City School District may choose to dismiss students from school early, or cancel school for the day. Below is a listing of television and radio stations which will broadcast this information.

Television Radio
KSDK Channel 5 KMOX 1120 AM
KMOV Channel 4 WIL 92.3 FM
KTVI Channel 2 KLOU 103.3 FM

All parents should have an inclement weather plan that includes where students are to go when school is dismissed early and how they are to get there. It is NOT possible for us to call every parent when we have an early dismissal or to field a multitude of calls from parents when the weather is bad. Please pay attention to the weather and have a plan for finding out when school is dismissed early. You could have a friend or relative that does not work give you a call when it is announced by the media.

Emergency Evacuation

In the event that the school should need to be evacuated our procedure is to walk through McNair Park to Faith United Methodist Church. The church is located at the corner of Droste and Norwich. The students will be in the basement of the church. We will begin making calls to parents or people listed on the emergency cards. The students will be released from the basement doors.
