Welcome Monroe Mustangs!
3rd and 4th grade students will be participating in Monroe's 2nd Annual Career Day. Students will hear speakers from five different professions share information about their jobs. This is a great way to expose students to the many different career opportunities available to them.
Information about Parent-Teacher Conferences should be arriving home with your child soon. Please take the time to visit with your child's classroom teacher and discuss his or her progress.
Jump Rope for Heart
Our service project for 3rd quarter is the Jump Rope for Heart fundraising event. All donations are made to the American Heart Association to help fund the organization's efforts. They provide resources for heart attack and stroke prevention and treatment.
Fundraising envelopes will go home at the beginning of January and collection of donations will continue all the way up to the day of the event. Parents and students can also sign up online, at home, to create a special webpage to share with family and friends. This site will electronically track donations made toward your child's efforts. This is also a great way to raise money from donors who live farther away, but still want to contribute toward your child's charitable efforts.
Click on the logo above to get started with the optional online fundraising "HeartQuarters".
Spirit Days
The first Friday each month is designated as a schoolwide spirit day fundraiser. To participate, students are asked to bring in $1 or an item to donate to the district's Sharing Closet. Items in short supply include paper products, cleaning products, and canned protein items (tuna fish, peanut butter, ravioli, etc.)
Thanks to the donations by parents, teachers, and local community businesses, this organization funds grant opportunities for teachers to utilize innovative instructional strategies in the classroom. Click to find out more information about this organization.
