STUDENT ADMISSION

Enrollment
Secondary students:
Enrollment is a competitive process at each sending school. Students need to contact their guidance counselor for timeline of the application procedure. Information is compiled regarding a student’s grades, attendance, discipline patterns, as well as aptitude testing. All students who have completed the application procedure are rated. Enrollment in a technical program is based on the cooperative decision of the enrollment team at each sending school.
Post-secondary students:
Any post-secondary student who is interested should contact the counselor at Lewis & Clark Career Center for enrollment information.

Tuition
Tuition will be paid by the sending school district of students who are in high school. Any post-secondary student should contact Lewis & Clark Career Center about tuition plans.

Earning Credit
1½ credits can be earned each semester (3 credits per year) with a grade average of 60% or above.

However, students should maintain a C average or better each semester to remain at Lewis & Clark Career Center.

Certificate of Completion Criteria
*Regular Certificate: (Silver)  90% attendance and 75% academic

*Honors Certificate: (Gold) 95% attendance and 95% academic and No discipline assigned by Lewis & Clark or discipline assigned by the sending school that results in loss of class time at Lewis & Clark. Leadership – as determined by the Instructor

*Participation in Learning Skill Center instruction (if math and/or reading pretest indicates need for remediation) is also required to receive a certificate of completion.

The following programs can be one or two years in length:
Design Drafting
Health Related Occupations
Power Equipment Technology
Supermarket Careers

In the programs mentioned above, students may receive a 1 or 2 year certificate. Juniors who successfully complete the junior year and do not return for the second year may receive one of the above certificates if the criteria are met. Students who remain in the program for 2 years must meet the criteria stated above for both years. HVAC students must also pass the EPA certification test to receive a certificate of completion.

Computer Maintenance Technology, Computer Information Systems, and Health Occupations are one-year programs. Juniors who meet the above criteria may receive a certificate of completion.

Note: Students who are removed from a program forfeit the certificate of completion.
